The new puppy’s name is Penny. And they jury is still out if she is a good or a bad one. I tried training her today… but that made me go crazy. I have to keep repeating that she is just a puppy… she is just a puppy. So, I will only correct her if she does something bad and let her just be. I will Cesar Millan/Divine Canine her later. But here are some photos of the new Chocolate Lab, Penny.

I went out shopping with my mother today. Never, and I do mean never, go anywhere with my mother if she has a headache. My mom typically sees life right down the middle. She usually sees the glass as both half full and half empty. But when she straps on a headache…. the darn glass is all the way empty.
We went to a new super grocery store and nothing could please her. “Apples cost a dollar, who would pay a dollar for apples.” (all under her breath) The store was nice but it was crowded. And Toots (her nickname when she is grumpy) hates crowds and avoids all social interaction with the outside world at all costs. She got better as the night went on. But my favorite point of the night was when we were at Borders looking for a book. She decided to buy one and so she waited in line, but the girl at the cash register was chatting with a customer and was going slower than Toots would like. Toots stormed out of line and put the book back… even though she was next to be rung out. She left the store all the while muttering under her breath about customer service and incompetent cashiers.
Then Toots was in such a fluster that she started walking further away from where her car was parked and looking around for her “missing” car. Mind you it was about 4 feet away from her. When she hit the car unlock on her keys she was surprised to see the lights come on so close and the look on her face was priceless. I can imagine what was going on in her mind: Why is this other car lighting up when I press my unlock button? I couldn’t stop laughing… she said she thought it wasn’t her car because it was so shinny. Maybe it was because she dumped her half empty and half full glass on it at the beginning of the night.
So a week ago today my new favorite thing came in to my world. I have an new ‘nephew’. He is gorgeous. Absolutely perfect. I got to see him on Skype. Which is the most amazing program in the world. I am on it all the time now. It has kinda become an addiction. I need a patch. A skype patch. What would a skype patch be? Maybe unlimited flyer miles or a teleportation machine. Seriously Skype is AWESOME! I haven’t got any ‘official’ photos of Bryce Oliver. But here is one from…. guess what?….. SKYPE!
8 pounds 8 ounces bundle of joy.
Frère Jacques, Frère Jacques,
Dormez vous? Dormez vous?
Sonnez les matines, Sonnez les matines
Ding Ding Dong, Ding Ding Dong
Oh how I love Skype. Today I woke up late from reading all night and when I came downstairs my Mom and my sister Jen were on Skype with my sister in Africa. It was awesome to finally see her after months of nothing. Oh how I miss her. She was drinking water out of a plastic bag! It is so great to see her. I worry about her all the time. That is her in the main part… My mom, me (in the orange hat) and my sister Jen in the bottom square. She makes me so proud. This was the first time we saw her face on Skype since she has been in Africa. I love Skype.
My sister right now is half way around the world from me. The cool thing is that we chat via Google talk.
If you want to read something really good, you have to look at her blog.
She should write a book about her journey.
