Just made most amazing soup last night. I would recommend it to everyone. Yum yum, and Vegetarian friendly.
1 onion diced
1 large carrot sliced
1 celery stalk sliced
4 medium cloves of garlic
2 tbs of butter
1/4 tsp of salt
Sauté in a soup pot on medium heat for 8 min or until onions start to go translucent.
Add:
4 potatoes diced small (peeled)
4 cups of water
1/4 cup of milk
2 chicken flavor cubes (goya)
salt and pepper to taste
Bring to boil and then put it on simmer until potatoes are done!
I don’t get the hairstyles today. What is with the Efron, Bieber, Grayson, side swept look? I don’t get it. Do they think that they are attractive and ladies like it. It also seems that if you have that hair style you might also wear tight girly pants. I just looked up “women, short, hairstyles” on Google and all their haircuts popped up. Why are men in America becoming so feminine? Seriously, I loved watching Grayson on Youtube sing Paparazzi. I understand the love of Lady Gaga because I am completely in love with her music. But come on thats a woman’s song. Men need to be men and women need to be women. I hate shopping and seeing men (or women for that matter) in super tight fitting clothing. It can’t be good for their circulation.
I bet in 10 years these guys go to the doctor and they are having problems (you can fill in the problem), and the doctor asks: Did you wear tight girly pants when you were younger? That is the problem, I am sorry it looks like I will have to amputate.
Come on men, go to the Banana or Eddie Bauer and buy some pants that fit you. Don’t buy bedazzled lady pants, you are not emo… you are effeminate. Men should dress like Don Draper and less like Hannah Montana.
Don’t you hate it when you get excited about something and share it with people, only to see it go down in flames? That is what happened to my painting on fabric. It didn’t turn out the way I wanted it to, Oh well. I know now not to paint on fabric, just to dye the whole thing one solid color. So, I cut up the fabric and made my sister a shrug for a dress I just made her. It will look super cute and not so matchy matchy. I hopefully will post a pic once she gets it on… It might be a while. But other than that, all is well.
I have begun to do more sewing and crafty projects. Right now I am in the middle of painting on fabric so that I can make a dress. It has definitely been an education. I have decided to take photos of it in process.
Words can inspire people and push people to do mad and crazy things. Actions can cause change for good, better, or worse. Words can also be empty and can mean nothing, but actions always cause an effect. We just have to look at our trusty friend Newton and his wondrous laws, his third law to be precise. Third Law: Every action has a reaction equal in magnitude and opposite in direction. In this argument I am pro actions and words I can take them or leave them. I would like to think most people would agree with me on this. There are many examples of unfulfilled promises and hollow words. Take the biggest offenders: Politicians, Presidents, School Boards, Husbands, Wives, Boyfriends, Girlfriends, Old Friends, or Work Colleges. We hear a promise for Health Care reform and I think… Show me. I hear a promise for a project to be finished at 12 and I think… Show me.
I am sorry if I am going Eliza Doolittle on everyone, but I believe people should do what they say. Nothing is worse than someone who says they will do something and then don’t back it up. Everyone fails at this, some more than others. I intend to make a better effort in my life to follow my own advice, and I hope everyone else will too.
Oh, how easily I become distracted when my boyfriend comes to town. I will go back on to SecondLife tonight. I have been remiss in trying it out again. On the other hand I did get to go to the Farm Show. I LOVE THE FARM SHOW. Its a Pennsylvania tradition. You hop in your car and cruise down to the Farm Show Complex and pay an expedient price for parking ($10). The nice thing is the the venue is free and you can mill around snacking on all the good freebies. Its like an EXTRA large petting zoo. Although, I wouldn’t recommend petting any of the animals they smell and are covered in poo or pee. Thing people have to do at the farm show are as follows: Milkshake, Potato Doughnut, Fried Veggies, and French Fries. The Milkshakes are the best you will ever have… no joke. The vanilla is just amazing and my boyfriend loved the chocolate as well. LOVE THEM! This year was good, we checked out the different events and really had such a great time. I did miss this when I lived in Florida, nothing compares with the Pennsylvania Farm Show. It really is great. And remember: Every 9 cows creats 1 Pennsylvania Job. So support your local farms.
Also, we got a new puppy! Name still under review. She has been called Haven, Wriggles, Olly, and most recently Penny. Any good puppy names shoot them my way, so far I have been calling it hound. Ok, back to the real world.
Its true. I do feel like an old man. I can’t sleep through the night anymore and I always have to go to the facilities, just because I happened to stir a little. I wake up just enough to think: do I have to go? Not really. And then once I think that, it just happens to be the only thing I can think about. And the only way to stop thinking about it is to wake all the way up and hike my bum all the way to the ladies room. And then it takes me another half hour to an hour to lull myself back to sleep. I don’t have to use the facilities all the time, I just have the superpower of hyper-focus and I can’t rest until the problem is solved… This trait served me well in art school and at work, but not for my nocturnal habits. It really is the wet blanket for a good nights sleep, but it does keep me from having a wet blanket… so that is an upside. Oh well, I have become an old man before my time. All I need is to loose all tack, remove what filter I do have between my mind and my mouth, and cultivate the smell of mothballs. That would really be attractive. Poor Hassan is dating a geriatric.
